I don't mind a "Your mum" retort because I now reply with "Yeh and what, she's dead" and I know somewhere up in the sky my Mum is wetting herself and cheering me on! ha xx

I remember this happening to someone as a teen and the crowd went absolutely silent.

LOL, it's not funny but it's ok to laugh at inappropriate things because this makes my world go round for sure! x

I hate to be someone that says you should have had kids to someone who choose to be childfree but you have missed premium mum feuding opportunities. Plus you live in London! You could have sent them to the most ridiculous private school and formed the most ridiculous schoolyard feud. This may have required you to have a completely different personality though. I'm in a low key northern working class feud with another woman that started when we were mere girlfriends right up to competitive about motherhood. We've made vitriolic comments about feeding, sleep, weaning, careers, etc. My partner ruined it. He always told me when we're ridiculous but she's started parking outside our house when she's at work and now he doesn't call me ridiculous anymore and said my petty rivalry was justified all along.

Charlotte you actually do have an enemy and this is thrilling to me!!! I need to know the origin story. You’re right about the kid thing, I’ve missed out but I think actually I’d have hated those mothers and found very little to laugh about 😭

Hahaha! This originated because I lived in the flat above this girl who was an absolute mess and used to have raves every weekend and I continually complained about her. This girl was the friend of the girl I feud with and when we met as "fellow girlfriends" she didn't say hello like a normal human she said I'm never gonna like you because I'm her friend. I was absolutely outraged that she didn't hide her dislike and people please like a normal person so my vendetta against her started then and it turns out so did hers against me 🤣

I adore this, I read it out loud to my husband because I decided it was Very Important. I am not a writer but I do love a feud and I’m absolutely cool with being Olivia even though she was the most boring one in Gone with the Wind. Liz Taylor strikes me as a woman who would like a feud? Modern day celebrities are so boring. Anyway I’m here for an audition if you get desperate

I was in a bit of a feud once, or so i thought until i read this! With Keen Kim.

It was pre social media, so really it was me moaning to my friends over white wine.

She started work after me, in an admin position, but after a couple of weeks she asked my boss if she could be promoted to the same job as me! The cheek! and my boss, who was wonderful, allowed her to change her job title, but she had to stay on admin salary. So then, this whippersnapper was promoted to the same level AS ME. Moi! I was older than her and everything!

thus the outdoing-each-other feud began. She's still in my life, sort of, and things are fine now we aren't in direct competition, so it didn't end dramatically, alas.

I think I won the feud morally, though.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I’ve got a novel in my head that I even once wrote 1,000 words for (day one of NaNoWriMo and never again). The fear of failure has always halted me. But this? This open invitation to a public feud with the mothy, “bestselling”, dog bothering wife of beloved radio presenter Greg James? This could be precisely the motivation I need. I’ll see you in the tabloids, Mackie.

perfect. every artist (secretly or not so secretly) agrees, brushes, chisels, to the fore. Da Vinci v Michelangelo is famous but I love the Kapoor v Semple colour feud (of course I do).

The Kapooor feud is a perfect petty example. I adore it so much. Can’t believe I forgot to include it!
