We all do this *sigh* and know we shouldn’t. Would really love to read your positive listicle too.

An amazing read, that unfortunately seems to resonate with most woman, it certainly resonates with me and at the same time is soothing to know that I'm not the only one that seems to obsess over every inch that's wrong x

We remember everything negative that's said to us don't we?

I'm also cursed with the pale blotchy skin, which even after two years of living abroad gave me nothing but pale skin.

I have the "Swarbrick" wide feet, hands and nose too....

Also decided that I will get my partner to take a photo of my back tonight, just so I can add that to my list too.

Thank you for Brightening up my Tuesday morning in the office!! :) xx

When I was aged 23, a woman in the office loos looked at me in the mirror as we were both washing our hands and said, 'would you like me to give you the name of my plastic surgeon? He could sort out those eye bags for you'. I felt terrible, but replied, 'yes, please'. Have fretted about eye bags on and off since then.

I spent about 15 years wearing shoes in summer because my childhood best friend told me I had toes like fingers. I wore shoes to the beach. The beach.

I love this perfectly written article and I think your list strangely comforting, not because I think it is at all true in description but it is so true of how so many of us think so much and so critically of the minutiae of our bodies. It made me realise that the only two bits of my body that I give any praise to aesthetically are my toes (they are kind enough to line up in height order) and my eyes (I like the colour). Having done a lot of running and a triathlon last year I thought I would have legs that would please me more aesthetically which has sadly not materialised but I have said thank you to them for being strong enough to carry me around a run on more than one occasion which feels like progress in terms of body appreciation.

I think stuff like this is so important because even if you still believe it once it's written down it is easier to see how ridiculous it all is. Especially when you read someone else's list and realise you have only ever thought nice things about the way they look!

This is so true, I think you look fab Bella but could just as easily write this list about myself so it makes total sense to me!

Brilliant. On one hand it’s refreshing that others feel the same as I do about this body that we were given, you know, to live & scientifically function, but on the other (more important, stumpy hand) how do we stop this thinking? I was called chubby cheeks by my brother and his friends as a baby & that’s stuck forever... the amount of time spent thinking about my excessively large head and huge chubby cheeks, even though at 33 my face has quite prominent cheekbones & less cheek. Go figure!

We all judge ourselves and have done for time.. well before social media...

anyways....

neck .. deep rings

Eyes .. too close

Shoulders.. very broad* for a lass (I always compared myself to Jeff Capes... he competed in the worlds strongest man in the 80’s... FYI LOL)

*therefore head too small...name called at school “pea head “

Funny how u see yourself....looking back now at pictures of myself in my 20’s 30’s 40’s I’m saddened at how much time I spent focusing on my self imposed flaws...

Just bloody love you and what you are, literally that is all that matters.... don’t waste your youth your time or space in your head trying to be anything other than yourself ❤️

Oh this made me groan and laugh and want to cry simultaneously, brilliantly spot on!

I laughed out loud when I saw "neck - has rings like trees" because I saw this on myself yesterday and thought the exact same thing. Have I always has this or does this come with age...? I'm embracing it either way. Always love reading such honest thoughts like this that I relate to!

Great article about how women often see themselves. Also, I completely agree with Julie's comment.

If I did a list, I'd list the positive and it would have one thing on it: my haircolour - and that will probably go soon.😆🤷‍♀️
